From humble beginnings to premium showroom

In 2008, a young Ryan Fischer joined Kawana Flooring as a warehouse hand. What was then just three guys at desks in a big shed has since grown into one of Queensland’s top flooring specialists.

With energy, vision, and a passion for customer care, Ryan quickly became an integral part of the team and stepped into ownership in 2016.

Since then, Ryan and his wife Mel have led Kawana Flooring together, transforming it from a warehouse-based operation into the premium Sunshine Coast showroom it is today. Their shared focus on independence, quality, and genuine customer care has redefined the business and earned it recognition as one of Queensland’s most trusted flooring providers and installers.

  • Ryan - Manager & Co-Owner

    Ryan, based at Kawana Flooring Warehouse, is the manager Director and co-owner of both businesses. He loves the dynamics of his team, as well as working in an ever-changing industry. Driven by hard work, loyalty and respect, Ryan aims to make it a place his team want to come to each day, where they have fun and gain a sense of achievement.

  • Mel - Designer & Co-Owner

    Mel has been in the design industry for 20 years with a passion for helping customers create their dream home. As a co-owner of Kawana Flooring she also manages the busy showroom and focuses on business development.

  • Blake - Commercial Estimator

    As the Commercial Estimator at Kawana Flooring Warehouse, Blake keeps the engine ticking behind the scenes and looks after all our residential builders. He takes great pride in his work, and loves to see how happy customers are with their final product.

  • Alina - Commercial Project Manager

    Alina manages our commercial department at Kawana Flooring. Focusing on high rises, shop fitouts and new developments, she has a passion for those big projects!

  • Ann - Accounts Manager

    As the Accounts Manager for both Kawana Flooring Warehouse and Kawana Flooring & Interiors, as well as being Ryan’s mum, Ann is one busy lady. Driven by integrity and efficiency, Ann loves working with the team - especially the youngsters who keep her on her toes all day long!

  • Theresa (AKA Cindy) - Customer Service

    Theresa is our super friendly customer service girl. She looks after all customer liaison and also helps with admin duties and sales in our busy showroom.

  • Brett (AKA Dad) - Everything Man!

    Brett helps with all handyman enquiries, blinds and curtains, measuring and site deliveries.

  • Rheece - Warehouse Manager

    Rheece is our warehouse manager. He deals with daily warehouse enquiries and ensures our install teams run smoothly! He looks after all our stock management and liaises with our builders and installers to make sure all jobs go to plan.

  • Adam - Operations Manager

    Adam is a previous installer who has been in the flooring industry for 20 years. He looks after all our big commercial projects, site inspections and measures.

  • Kobe - Junior Estimator

    Kobe helps Blake and Ryan with all our residential builder estimating and is an important part of the team, making sure our builders get what they need in a timely manner!

  • Isaac - Junior Warehouse Assistant

    Isaac helps the engine run as Rheece's assistant in the warehouse. Helping with stock, deliveries and cutting hundreds of meters of carpet every week!

  • Kelly - Window Furnishings

    Kelly has a wealth of knowledge and experience with everything related to Window Furnishings. For the best products and service pop in to see her in our showroom.

  • Jazmine - Admin/Sales Assistant

    Jazzy our admin/sales assistant helps keep everything running on time with quotes and general admin duties. She also helps our customers with colour selections in the showroom

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes, we do. Every measure and quote from Kawana Flooring is completely free. We can often give you a rough price straight away using your floorplan or even your property listing on realestate.com.au. When you’re ready for exact figures, we’ll book a measure. It’s the perfect balance: fast, no-pressure pricing with accurate detail once you’re ready to move forward.

Why should I visit the showroom first?

A visit to our Kawana Flooring showroom saves everyone time and gives you a better result. In-store, we can show you exactly how products look and feel, narrow down your options, and often quote on the spot. Many people come in dreaming of timber and leave loving a high-end vinyl that suits their budget and lifestyle better.

Do you provide after-sales support?

Yes! One to two weeks after installation we email your product brochures, care guides, and warranty terms. You’ll probably receive them more than once, because we want to make sure you get them! We also follow up to make sure you’re happy. If anything ever needs attention within the first year, we’ll handle it directly. Long-term, we’re always here for advice on cleaning, maintenance, or upgrades.

What happens if something goes wrong with my floor?

If it’s an installation issue, we’ll fix it under our 12-month workmanship warranty: no fuss. If it’s a product defect, we’ll liaise with the manufacturer for inspection and resolution. Think of us like your local Toyota dealer: you bring it to us, we handle the process with the product company behind the scenes.

What brands and suppliers do you work with?

We source from Australia’s most trusted flooring manufacturers and wholesalers. This means you have direct access to hundreds of ranges in carpet, vinyl, hybrid and timber. Our relationship with multiple suppliers means you get honest advice, not a single-brand push. Every product on our floor has been tested for quality, warranty reliability and Queensland performance. Our aim is always to get you the best product for your needs.

Do you remove my old flooring before installing new products?

Yes, removing old flooring is included in our service. We’ll safely lift and dispose of your old carpet, vinyl or laminate, and prepare the subfloor properly so your new flooring performs perfectly from day one.
