From humble beginnings to premium showroom

In 2008, a young Ryan Fischer joined Kawana Flooring as a warehouse hand. What was then just three guys at desks in a big shed has since grown into one of Queensland’s top flooring specialists.

With energy, vision, and a passion for customer care, Ryan quickly became an integral part of the team and stepped into ownership in 2016.

Since then, Ryan and his wife Mel have led Kawana Flooring together, transforming it from a warehouse-based operation into the premium Sunshine Coast showroom it is today. Their shared focus on independence, quality, and genuine customer care has redefined the business and earned it recognition as one of Queensland’s most trusted flooring providers and installers.

    Isaac is Rheece's right-hand man and the unofficial entertainment department of the warehouse. By day, he manages stock, handles deliveries, and cuts what feels like thousands of metres of carpet a week. Between tasks, he's moonwalking between the carpet rolls. Hard-working, hilarious, and surprisingly talented with a carpet knife.

  • Brett (AKA Dad) - Everything Man!

    Brett is our official Everything Man – and the title fits. Handyman jobs, blinds and curtains, site deliveries, random 'can you just quickly...' tasks? Already done. He's the steady pair of hands that quietly keeps a hundred little jobs moving. Dry humour? Elite. Mention a lemon dessert and watch him light up.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes, we do. Every measure and quote from Kawana Flooring is completely free. We can often give you a rough price straight away using your floorplan or even your property listing on realestate.com.au. When you’re ready for exact figures, we’ll book a measure. It’s the perfect balance: fast, no-pressure pricing with accurate detail once you’re ready to move forward.

Why should I visit the showroom first?

A visit to our Kawana Flooring showroom saves everyone time and gives you a better result. In-store, we can show you exactly how products look and feel, narrow down your options, and often quote on the spot. Do you provide after-sales support?

Yes! One to two weeks after installation we email your product brochures, care guides, and warranty terms. You’ll probably receive them more than once, because we want to make sure you get them! We also follow up to make sure you’re happy. If anything ever needs attention within the first year, we’ll handle it directly. Long-term, we’re always here for advice on cleaning, maintenance, or upgrades.

What happens if something goes wrong with my floor?

If it’s an installation issue, we’ll fix it under our 12-month workmanship warranty: no fuss. If it’s a product defect, we’ll liaise with the manufacturer for inspection and resolution. Think of us like your local Toyota dealer: you bring it to us, we handle the process with the product company behind the scenes.

What brands and suppliers do you work with?

We source from Australia’s most trusted flooring manufacturers and wholesalers. This means you have direct access to hundreds of ranges in carpet, vinyl, hybrid and timber. Our relationship with multiple suppliers means you get honest advice, not a single-brand push. Every product on our floor has been tested for quality, warranty reliability and Queensland performance. Our aim is always to get you the best product for your needs.

Do you remove my old flooring before installing new products?

Yes, removing old flooring is included in our service. We’ll safely lift and dispose of your old carpet, vinyl or laminate, and prepare the subfloor properly so your new flooring performs perfectly from day one.

Do you really stand by the slogan “Your Flooring is Our Passion”?
