Why Choose Hybrid Flooring

Waterproof

As a 100% waterproof flooring product, hybrid flooring is the perfect option for Queensland homes, as it can withstand our extreme climates, handling rapid temperature changes with minimal expansion and contraction.

Durable

Hybrid flooring is the perfect option for a busy family home or commercial property as it is very durable. The strong wear layer helps to protect it from everyday wear and tear.

Consistent & Clean Look

Because you can use hybrid flooring in wet rooms, you can achieve a consistent and clean look throughout your home, using the same flooring in all areas.

This is great for open plan living. Plus, you can achieve a beautiful timber-look throughout your home or business, at a fraction of the price of real timber.

Renovator's Delight

Hybrid flooring is a great option for renovations as it can be installed over most old flooring products, including tiles, provided the existing floor is dry, clean and flat.

Easy To Clean

This low maintenance flooring option requires minimal time and energy to keep it looking schmick! It is wet mop friendly, and really just needs a regular vacuum and mop.

Soft & Quiet

Hybrid flooring is softer and more comfortable under foot, and it has excellent sound reduction qualities.

Hybrid Flooring FAQs

What is hybrid flooring?

Hybrid flooring is a floating plank made from a blend of stone and PVC with a built-in acoustic underlay. It clicks together easily, is DIY-friendly, and can go over most level surfaces. Surfaces don’t have to be perfectly smooth, just free of humps or ridges.

Can I put my kitchen on top of hybrid flooring?

No. Because hybrid is a floating system, it should go around fixed cabinetry. Installing heavy cabinets or islands on top locks the floor down and stops it moving naturally, which can lead to buckling or separation later.

Can hybrid flooring be used in wet areas?

QBCC now advises against floating floors in wet zones like bathrooms and laundries due to a risk of trapped moisture. You can use glued-down vinyl instead as it’s the safer waterproof option.

Is hybrid flooring easy to install?

Yes. If you’re reasonably handy you can install hybrid yourself as it rates 5–6 out of 10 on the DIY scale. Just make sure the subfloor is clean, level and dry, leave expansion gaps at walls, and follow the manufacturer’s click-lock instructions.

How do I clean and maintain hybrid flooring?

Hybrid floors only need a soft broom or vacuum for dust and a damp microfibre mop for deeper cleans. Avoid steam mops or silicone sealants; the joints must stay free-floating so the floor can expand and contract naturally.
