The Easter holidays are in full swing, and for most of us, they won’t have in store what we originally planned. Whether you were planning a trip over the Easter break or to host friends and family, chances are your plans have been cancelled and you’re wondering what you can do instead.
You may be tempted to spend your Easter break binging Netflix and ordering UberEats, but we have a better idea. Why not use this spare time to get stuff done? We’re talking about all the things you put off because you ‘just don’t have the time’. Guess what? You have the time now whether you like it or not!
Here are a few ways to transform your home and make the most out of your self-isolated Easter break.
Deep Clean & Organise
The first step to a productive home transformation is to start with a clean slate. It’s time to deep-clean your space. Set aside a weekend and methodically tackle one room at a time. You know that junk room you’ve been avoiding? Time to dump it out and organise. When was the last time you vacuumed and mopped the entire house? What can you get rid of from your storage space?
After a deep clean and full home organisation, you will feel accomplished and lighter. Not to mention your space will feel much better to be in, which is important since we’re all going to be stuck inside for a while.
Fix What Needs Fixing
Once you have cleansed your space, it’s time to repair it. Everyone has something broken in their home that they keep telling themselves they will get around to. Now is the time. Dust off your tool kit and start fixing hinges, replacing light bulbs, and patching up walls.
Increase Your Resale Value
Now that the foundations are laid you can begin to add value to your home. Look around your space and ask yourself what feels dated or dingey to you. Could your walls or cabinets use a lick of paint? Do you have old carpet or lino that is begging for new flooring? Take on jobs here and there that will make a big difference to your space and up your resale value.
Make Your Dream Home a Reality
Once you have completed the first three steps, you will likely have caught the renovation bug and be thinking bigger. Now is the time to achieve your renovation dreams. Take on a project and use this extra time to work on your dream home. And if you can’t get out to the shops to find what you need, start by planning - do your research online, start a Pinterest board, or phone to chat to a consultant. You might find you achieve more than you think you can, all from the comfort of your home!
Don’t forget, we are still open to the public and we’re following all precautions outlined by the Government and health organisations because our customers’ safety and wellbeing is our number one priority. So if new flooring is on your to-do list over this period, get in touch today and we can talk you through our process and how we can help you achieve your goals while still taking all necessary precautions!
